What does the Mocha Motor Corps do?
The Motor Corps’ main activity is raising
money by riding in regional parades numbering about ten per year. The group rides in formation on a variety of different makes and models of street-legal motorcycles or in an antique 1951 Harley Davidson 4-person golf cart. They wear a special Motor Corps uniform consisting
of embroidered white shirt, black pants with yellow piping and red
military-style jacket.
Where does the money go?
Funds raised in this community stay in the community and typically go to helping children gain access the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario. Also to support the Children’s Health Foundation’s newly established Mocha Shriners Paediatric Orthopaedics Telemedicine Service, which provides immediate diagnosis and treatment for burns, orthopaedics or specialized treatment to children in the region from birth to the age of 18 years.
What % of my donation(s) and pledges will go directly to the Shriners Hospital and Shriners Charities? How much of the money is used for administration and expenses?
100% of all Rider Registration Fees, Pledges and Donations are donated every year by Mocha Motor Corps as a result of the generosity and fund raising efforts of the motorcycle riders and others who support SHRIDE each year.
All expenses such as advertising, equipment rental, motor corps unit maintenance, the barbque lunch etc. are covered by the generous donations of our sponsors.
Motor Corps members and their friends & families host this event annually on a volunteer basis.
